Anytime there is heat and a device is not charging, one needs to start of with a new battery. A failed battery can overheat but not hold a charge. Once the battery gets replaced, time to re-evaluate. If the symtoms persist one will have to disassemble the device and check the board for failed components like a bad power management IC, bad charging port connector etc....

Chosen Solution Here is a picture of my LG TV Model Number: 55LN5400 @sebastianc could be a bad backlight array or a bad power supply (less likely) LG has issues with the backlight arrays. Only way to test it would be by checking the power output to the LED’s from the power board. If that is okay you will have to disassemble the panel and check the backlight array.

Sometimes when a turn is made you can hear it sloshing around and see it spilling onto the floor. The dealer said the condenser" housing" was cracked. Does that mean the condenser itself is cracked?
