Connect an external monitor first and see what it does.
Chosen Solution I’m confused as to why my screen is dim. How can I make it brighter? To increase the brightness of the screen hold down the “Fn” key and press the up arrow key. To lower the brightness do the same but instead of the up arrow key press the down arrow key. If software is not the issue, you may have to replace the entire screen assembly. Don’t fret yet, though, as there are some things you can try before resorting to the ‘Nuclear Option’....

Chosen Solution So I was repairing my phone and changing the screen when the new one didn’t work. Or so I thought. In certain angles, more whens its in sunlight, you can very dimly see the screen. Now the brightness is all the way up but it still has the same problem. I put the old screen back on it and it stopped working the way it did. (the old one was fine just has cracks) Now when I put the connectors together I did feel a slight hotness....

I think the reason why your computer may be reading it like that is because the memory is wired through it, or because of a weirdly configured USB connection. I think you should still be able to connect, charge, and transfer data....

Chosen Solution why cant i receive txt messages If you’ve checked all obvious stuff like you’re not in airplane mode, sending to valid recipient, etc, I would check the APN codes for your carrier and make sure your device is set to correct codes. I have had this issue many times before with MetroPCS. You can find the correct APN for your carrier by searching Google or calling your carrier. HOPE that helps....

Your power button may be jammed a little, if you press it a few times can you feel the button press? Might also be worth trying replacing the charger you are currently using.
Chosen Solution rear camera looks like this and I don’t know why! I bought it second hand and I could have sworn I checked and the camera worked fine but I could be wrong I then replaced the screen, and noticed that the camera was funny. I don’t see how replacing the screen could have done this so maybe it was messed up when I bought it. Since then, I disconnected the rear camera and brushed both the lens and the inside of the glass cover with a cotton swab, which didn’t make any difference unfortunately....

Chosen Solution The fan and turntable come on when the door is opened. It sounds like a problem with the door lockout switches or the control board. I would NOT use the unit until it is repaired. It’s possible that it’s also shooting microwaves out the front with the door open.
Chosen Solution Hello All, I did a battery change which was great however the ribbon for the headset jack seemed to be affected when I swapped out the battery. I tapped it with the plastic tool that came with my battery change kit and confirmed that it was the faulty part when it started working when pressed. I bought the replacement board for the headphone jack, lightning port and speaker and swapped it all out gently and now neither the headset nor the speaker work....
