Hi, I’ve replaced the USB charging port successfully and everything works fine, except the smart cover. Seems its magnet isn’t recognized anymore and the screen doesn’t lock on closing the cover. Any idea where the sensor recognizing the magnet is? Might it be on the USB charging port board I replaced?
Hi THBE, not sure where the magnet on the smart cover sits. You might want to check the position of the magnet (using a paper clip maybe) and then look for any sort of sensor in the phone at the respective position. I can imagine that maybe the small extension of the loudspeaker unit (bottom left next to the USB charging board) that extends to the side might carry an extra sensor. There are also two magnets on the left rear edge of the phone assembly when opened (right edge when looking at it from the back with the back cover off), but that would be inverse to how a smart cover usually works.
