Hi, the sound of my Macbook is not functioning at all. This started to happen when someone tripped over the cable of the Macbook causing it to fall from a small table. Just in cases I reinstalled the operative system but it doesn’t seem to be a software issue. I checked for disconnected plugs and cables in the logic board (both sides) but that didn’t helped. Does anyone know if there’s a sound card somewhere in the board? or if it might be a cable that i may have missed that makes the sound function properly. Thank you very much in advance. PS: if it is of some help the serial number of the computer ends in DTY4 PS2: No input/output devices found appears in the sound preferences, same with audio midi setup

I would also try resetting PRAM. To reset your PRAM: Shut down the computer. Press the power button. Before the grey screen appears, press the Command, Option, P, and R keys at the same time. Hold the keys until your computer restarts and you hear the startup sound a second time. Release the keys. ALSO, make sure you have updated the computer since its a fresh install. This quite common on Mac. Lastly, you may find this posting a good resource. Sound Advice: Fixing Common Mac Audio Problems in OS X

Is there sound when you attach headphones? You can try opening the laptop and reconnecting the cable

Reflow the audio codec. On the tear down it should show which is the audio codec/chipset
