My ASUS MeMO Pad 7 LTE (ME375CL) is only able to connect to WiFi if it is within a few inches of the WiFi transmitter box. Is there a WiFi antenna component to this device? Does the antenna itself need replacing? If so, where is the WiFi antenna located?
The antenna is attached to the back cover of the unit, located near the top right, as seen from the back. It makes electrical contact through two pins on the motherboard that press onto two bare metal pads on the back cover when the back is attached. If the back is not firmly and properly seated then they would not make contact and your wifi range would be severely limited.
