Can i just replace the ribbon or do i need to replace the entire LCD / Digitizer?

if the ribbon is able to be removed with solder from the digitizer, sure you could replace it. the real problem lies in getting a new ribbon. that would take some digging around.

It’s certainly possible and there are shops providing this kind of repairs commercially, but if you need to ask, you can’t.
