If I completely disconnect the lock, not cutting wires will the washer still function

Hi, Not sure what you mean by “…completely disconnect the lock, not cutting any wires…” but if you mean just removing it from where it is fixed and leaving it dangling then if you are having issues with the lock then they may still occur and affect the operation of the washer. Perhaps a better option is to bypass the lock circuit by modifying the lock wiring but the model number of the washer would have to be known as the wiring is not the same for all washers. Doing this would also prove the problem either into the lock itself or back into the lock operating circuit i.e. if it works OK then it is the lock, if not then it is the lock operating circuit and further testing would be required to find the problem.
