Good evening, I have a Whirlpool 18mstfa manufactured in 2017 that I have owned since new. For about the last two weeks the refrigerator has been freezing milk and water. No solid, but partially frozen. This week it started running constantly and making a higher pitched noise. It is also making a hissing noise. The coil and fan in the freezer appear to be clean and not damaged (visual inspection only). The coil and fan in the bottom of the fridge also appear to be clean and not damaged. I did not change any settings to cause this so I believe something failed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Please verify the model number as the one posted gives no results. What are the actual temps in the freezer and the refrigerator sections? If only the refrigerator is a lot colder than normal then it may be the refrigerator temp sensor (or thermostat) that is the problem and it is not signalling that the compressor and evaporator fan need to be turned off. Usually the set temps for the refrigerator section is 3-5 deg. C (~ 37- 40 F) and for the freezer is -18 deg. C (0 F)
