The drum of my washing machine is slamming the side of the machine sometimes during, but mostly as the spin cycle winds down. I’ve changed the suspension rods, still did it. I had a repairman come take a look and he believes the bearings are bad. The machine is only 3 years old. The feet are leveled. I’ve even leveled it using a level. Has anyone dealt with this sort of shaking? Are the bearings worth changing?

If it is a top loader, the bearings are under the tub and will require a disassembly to get at them. It is hard to believe that they are bad after just 3 years, but things are not built to last like they were many years ago. If you are handy, the DIY cost would be far less than a new one, assuming that is the problem and the only problem.
