Hi All, My whirlpool dishwasher does not seem to spray water. It fills with water and then does not do anything. When I clear it the drain cycle works fine. I checked the float and it does not look like its stuck. I switched it off and on. Did not work. I cleaned the spray arms, did not help. I took off the water filter and the screen and cleaned them. There was nothing in the basin at the bottom of the dishwasher under the screen. When i opened the footplate and ran the dishwasher, I could hear a few soft clicks when it got stuck. Not sure if its from the inlet valve or the circulation pump? I have run out of ideas. Please help! Thanks, Sagar
Water Inlet Valve The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. If the valve is clogged or defective, the dishwasher won’t get enough water to clean dishes properly. If the water inlet valve is clogged, replace it. Do not attempt to clean the water inlet valve—cleaning the valve could make it more likely to fail. n addition, make sure that the center wash arm assembly is mating properly with the water supply nozzle. https://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/…
Yes this right here was my problem. Mine did the same thing. Same model also . The little lever arm had came loose. I reattached it and it’s working great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNu9gWv2…
Wash Pump Worn Bushings There are many possible causes to this problem. If you are getting 120 volts at the pump motor a likely cause is worn motor bushings which allow the rotor to lock up on the stator. If this is the case the easy solution is to replace the pump assembly. If you’re handy you could machine up some replacement bushings and give that a try.
It was actually the float switch that it located just below the door. It has a little lever that rocks up and down and it came loose and I just put it back together and no trouble since. This is what the switch looks like. Also since I fixed this the washer washes like its brand new again lol Here is how to fix it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNu9gWv2…
I had the same problem. Removed the pump motor, cleaned it up and put it back. It works like new now. There as nothing in the motor but maybe it was stuck. Little sticky inside. Maybe the connection was not good? I turned off the switch and it took over 30 minutes to fix. When the breaker was turned on and I started the 1-hour cycle, the LED display showed that the dishwasher was resetting. Anyway, it sounds like it is washing even better than before it broke. I should add that it was the Circulation Pump part# W11032770
Controller board is not functioning properly and needs replacement. All commands come from there so some component is d a maged.
I replaced the inlet valve, checked and bypasses the overflow relay and replaced the pump motor but there is still no spray during the wash and rinse cycles. Still don’t know what’s wrong.
I found this somewhere else. We couldn’t get any other fix to work so we decided to try it and see what happened. It worked We did not do the “making parts" like he does at the end. We just cleaned it out. It surprisingly had some weird stuff in it. It works better than it ever did. We may have to replace it one day, but it’s been working for 6 months so far and we saved $120.00. https://youtu.be/Ki68BVU-80A
The impellers tend to come off of the circulation pump do to stripped/deteriorated brass threads in the impeller.
