I replaced my cracked screen, but with the new screen I have horizontal white bars at the top of the xcreen. They only cover the top 1/8 inch of the screen. I’ve tried re-seating the screen ribbons to the phone, but the problem does not go away.

Make sure the LCD connector is clean on both the screen and the logic board, also check to make sure it is seated properly.

maybe the replacement screen is bad.

When reassembling your phone, The LCD cable may pop off the connector. This can cause white lines, or nothing at all to appear when powering your phone back on. If that happens, simply reconnect the cable and power cycle your phone. The best way to power cycle your phone is to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Or you may have a non OEM screen.

Also had the same problem with my 5S. I bought the LCD from phonepartsfix and they claimed that they LCD is of premium quality. When the replaced the LCD, I saw white bars on top and bottom of my screen. Called them again for the replace but they told me to clean the connector and it worked.

I had the same issue, but for me, after some time of usage, the white bars fainted and disappeared without any further action.

After replacing the screen of an Iphone 5, I noticed the white bars at the top. I opened it up again, and cleaned up the connectors. That took care of it.

Just replaced my screen and same. Opened her up and reseated connects, whaabam! Good to go.

I cleaned up the connectors thoroughly and the lines disappeared.
