So I had a battery problem the phone pretty much would die (just shutdown on its own, the more apps I opened the faster) 10 minutes after it would leave the charger. Even with a full battery icon and then would occasionally turn back on and then off again or just need a visit from the charger all together. I ordered the Battery Replacement Kit and went to work, when I got to the battery I noticed white residue coming form the top left of the old battery near the volume controls and all over the back of the metalplate of the display assembly. I cleaned out what I could and removed the old battery which was soft and seemed to have exploded? So new battery installed just about finished up the last steps of reassembly. Turn the phone on and on the boot up screen are to 2 white glitch lines right down the middle over the apple logo it seems. The left and right sides are black as should be. But when the phone gets to my lock screen its fine just for a couple of seconds then the lines fade in? The touch screen is responsive and works well but the picture or background is glitched out with lines and squares. Almost like I have clean working background but these lines fade in at the front? Any idea what component it might be that’s giving me this problem? Everything worked fine before, it was just the battery that was giving me problems.
Most likely you bent the screen flex cables while changing out the battery. You could have also short circuted the screen by removing flexes (to the battery or the screen) without the phone being turned off. I’ve done this a few times, and I normally let the phone sit in the charger for 5-10min. Then I hard reset the phone, turn up/down the brightness and repeat a few times. Normally the issue solves itself, some times it doesn’t. Not sure which of the above actually fix the problem though. Goodluck!
