My iphone 4 is acting up. The screen goes to white and slowly have a black ring around the edges. I have purchased a new screen. And the new screen that I assemble has problems too. It’s totally black with a brown colored line in the middle and a white line on top. But when I tried it on other iphone 4(bench test). It worked. There’s no problem at all. But when I put it on mine, it does like what I said. Can somebody help me? What is the problem here actually? Everything works fine. The screen capture, I can even turn on the flashlight.
Faulty screen is your problem
I would buy a screen that was ‘original’ not OEM–which doesn’t mean anything for iPhones. Pay a few bucks more than you’ve been paying. See if that clears it up.
I had exactly the same problem, it’s a software fault, not hardware! If you installed Weblock (Adblock for iOS), remove it and reboot. I put my iPhone into DFU mode and restored it, got a flickering screen instead. Then I decided to remove Weblock and all the problems dissapeared! :D
I don’t have any Weblocks/Adblock apps and I’m having the same problem. Last week the Home button stopped working so I reset and restored from backup and it resolved the problem of the Home button. This black edge thing started about an hour ago and is slowly getting worse (the edges are closing in). : ( My plan is to reset and restore as soon as I get home this afternoon and hope for the best.
