My volume works on tv but when I try to watch a movie on my Firestick i don’t have volume. Does the remote have a volume button? What could cause this?
Okay, so I just had this issue. Hold down the home button until the settings option comes up. In settings go to “equipment control”. Go to “TV” and “change TV”. On screen prompts will walk you through from here. This was the issue for me. Hope this helps someone.
I had this! Couldn’t control volume or power on/off with fire stick remote. Did everything said on here, even turned TV off for 10 seconds but still didn’t work. I solved this issue for me by taking out the batteries on the remote!! Literally opened the back & switched the batteries around (didn’t replace them) & power on/off worked as did volume control so could be the batteries need replacing soon - hope that helps anyone googling the issue & coming here :D
Go to settings -> Equipment control -> Manage Equipment -> TV -> Change TV
Follow what Firestick says and done.
My problem was that during the TV/remote setup/config (Settings -> Equipment Control -> Manage Equipment -> Change TV) the only option that worked with the power and mute button wouldn’t work with the volume button. Volume up would not work at all, but the volume down would trigger the “AnyView Cast“ option for my HiSense TV. I tired everything mentioned in this thread. The only thing that worked for me is this.
Take out the batteries from the Remote, Unplug Fire TV from the HDMI and power source and leave it off for 20 seconds. Plug the Fire TV back (HDMI and Power Source). Wait for the Fire TV device to boot. Once on the home screen, put the batteries back in the remote and press the Home button for 10 seconds (disregard the shortcut menu) your remote LED (top right) will now start blinking. Wait for the blinking to stop and go to Settings -> Equipment Control -> Manage Equipment -> Change TV. I followed the same configuration steps again but this time one of the combinations finally worked. Now everything on my remote works.
Finally solved my lack of volume control by changing where the Audio was being sent. To the TV not a Soundbar, since I didn’t have one. The TV had once been connected to one and who would have thought, duh! Just go to Settings, Equipment control, Advances settings, Volume control device.
My remote didn’t work for volume or power on or off tried all these suggestions nothing seemed to be working then tried to put my TV as wrong brand (mine is alba changed it to bush) eT voila it now all works
look around all over the stick to see if it has a volume or it went out or you need to turn the volume up on your phone
The 4 way navigation key is the volume control also. Press upper side for volume up and down side for volume down.
Get close to the TV and press volume button up or down, it doesn’t really matter till you see the volume on the screen again and then you can go more further it will work.
I’ve tried everything. My volume on my remote still isn’t working, nor the mute. Everything else does.
Open settings » equipment control » check if it’s set to automatic. If it’s disable enable it and check if the issue is fixed.
Press the home button, go to settings Select equipment control, then select tv.. Next turn power off and wait 10 seconds to power back on. Answer the question it will ask (yes) Then you’re all set……. Gino Latino from Dallas TX.
I am facing the same issue as well on my LG tv as well as TCL TV…. So pretty sure its not an issue with the tv but its with the
Unplugged the fire stick from HDMI2 and connected To the HDMI 1 port on Samsung TV. And it resolved the volume issue.
Try following these steps ( Date- 20th Oct 20) Home - Equipment Control - Manage Equipment - TV - Infrared Options - IR Profile - Change IR Profile - Select your TV brand name - Home Try now . It should work Note: (Name of your TV Brand will be displayed if you have selected correct brand during 1st setup of Fire Stick Otherwise you may try selecting diff IR profiles and check which one works) Thanks Sachin Pokharkar India.
Just another possible solution: This same problem was happening to me and I finally figured out that the bluetooth on my FireStick had connected itself to my AirPods that had been left out of their case. Once I put my AirPods back into their case, it worked just fine.
Thank you. It worked. Had to change to current tv I was using, it still had prior tv in settings.
If you hear volume when it starts up but not any other time, check to see if you have bluetooth headphones that might have connected. That was my issue, spent an hour till the headphones finally died and i saw the disconnected message.
