I have the same problem boots up to logo screen then blank 2005 dell inspiron I don’t know what happened one night I was downloading music on a public wifi and next day this happend

Couple things you can try if you have any usb devices plugged in take them out and try to boot. If that doesn’t work you can press F11 on the top of your keyboard when the system boots and make sure you are booting to the boot drive. Guessing either your boot sequence got messed up or your hard drive bit the dust.

Try booting into your BIOS. If it boots there, then it is either an HDD issue or a bad component on the MB. Is there a blinking cursor on your screen? If so, then Windows it trying to talk to a bad component on the MB. My old Dell had a bad USB port. If not, then it is likely trying to read corrupt files on the HDD. To start, without a backup of your files, you must remove the HDD and connect it to another computer via a USB port. Either a external drive enclosure or a purpose built cable will work. If Windows can recognize it, you can access your files to remove them. Then attempt to fix the HDD with chkdsk or remove all partitions, repartition, and do a full format. Replace HDD into Dell and reinstall Windows and your programs - Unless you have a recent image file. But that would be too easy. If Windows does not recognize it, you are pretty much done. It may be possible to recover it, but it will be costly.
