my phone was set up for service at MetroPCS. when they began transferring my gallery and files from other sd card to S5 it began giving message android. process.media.process. stopped. That had not happened prior to their transfer. I returnedvto MetroPCS and I saw gallery stopped message also. I have put a 64gb sd card in my S5. But my 500+ photos they transferred are in the air. I am aware I cannot get the photos, but I am wanting this phone checked for repairs.
The problem is usually caused by a bad or corrupt image stored on the SD card, maybe in the downloads folder on the SD card itself. This will take some time to find out which one it is so I recommend checking each image with a desktop or laptop you can either use a microSD card USB adapter to plug into a computer or plug the phone into computer and check every image. Any image that does not load on computer (after you copy and/or open it) you should delete it because those ones are causing the issue.
