I have a Iiyama Prolight 2710HDS LCD monitor which does the following while in use: Display is lost but not just to black, takes a second to ‘break down’ and disappear to black, can’t see anything on the screen, power light is still on and has power or the display goes black then washes out to white (which is far less often). Windows settings are not power saving or affecting the power of the monitor. I have another identical panel so have used this to test both outputs on the graphics card, both DVI cables and both power leads which has isolated it to the monitor itself. I use the monitor with a laptop also as the monitor has auto switching and use the laptop on the HDMI port of the monitor and this is generally ok all day long but very occasionally it does lose the screen but on my PC it loses the screen usually after a couple of minutes after booting up. Is this repairable or is the mainboard faulty? I have a multimeter and the like and don’t mind tearing stuff down but this is new to me…thanks.

I’ve spent the last couple of hours looking for similar problems and solutions. My initial thought was hardware but if it works (relatively well) with your note book I suspect software or settings. Other folks with similar problems have achieved fixes in the following ways, see if any work for you. If you do not have or cannot find your manual a pdf version is here. Try a reset on the monitor. If not already done, follow the troubleshooting guide in your manual.Update your display driversTry adjusting settings particularly to brightness and contrastTry changing from auto select to your actual signal outputTry changing output signal typeGo to Display in the Control Panel > Calibrate colorGo to NVIDIA Control Panel -> Display -> Change Resolution find “Output color format” and change the setting from ‘RGB’ to ‘YCbCr444’Ensure your output does not conflict with the monitor’s capabilities - see manual. If none of that helps let us know. Good luck!
