I can see through my eyepiece when the camera is off but not when the camera is on

Hi, What happens if you hold the shutter button half operated, can you see through the viewfinder then? Try adjusting the viewfinder’s dioptric knob and check if that resolves the problem. Here’s an image to show where it is located.
