Whenever I try to play music or a video, my Nextbook will not play any sound. When playing a game I can adjust the volume settings, but no sound will come out.
The speaker could be filled with dirt which could distort or block the sound entirely. Take the back cover off, remove the speaker, and blow on it. If that doesn’t seem to clear the dirt out, try using compressed air to remove any extra debris. If after cleaning out the debris, the speaker still doesn’t produce sound, the speaker is probably faulty. It will need to be replaced.

If you have removed the cover in the past, you may have ripped the speaker wires from the motherboard. Be VERY careful when removing the back cover of this tablet, the speaker is screwed to the back panel, and the leads that run from the speaker to the motherboard are very thin and there is very little slack (-/+) about an inch, 1.5 inches. My butterfingers slipped and tore the speaker wires from the motherboard. The only way to put them back on is to solder then back on with a soldering iron. The red wire goes to the positive marked spot next to the battery connector on the right.
Why can’t I get any sound when the volume is turned all the way up?
I am currently having this very same problem. Last night it worked when i went to bed. This morning. No sound. At all.
