After following instructions to replace the battery on an iPhone SE (1st Generation), I plugged in the charging cable and the Apple logo showed up along with a red vertical line on the right side of the display. In a few moments, this screen went away, but a few moments after that it showed up again along with a faint crosshatch of horizontal and vertical white lines. This cycle keeps repeating over and over again, with the blurred white crosshatch pattern getting worse over time. The battery never charges and the phone is unresponsive unless the charging cable is connected. Where do I start looking for the problem?

Hi,From what you have described there are there potential problems. You have damaged the screen while repairing your battery hence the digitizer not being responsive and the lines that disappear and reappear that suggests that the lcd is broken.Second potential problem is the screen and battery are fine the logic board has been damaged and probably needs a micro soldering repair.Third potential problem it could be a battery problem but this is highly unlikely to be reason behind the screen problems but could the charging problem. If a new screen and battery does not fix the problem it is a logic board problem
