how can i test my cooling fans so i know what to fix an are there fuses on this one
ricknickdick you are not telling us what is going on with your fan. For your Rio the no cooling fan operation is commonly caused by: Cooling fan fuse Fan motor Wire Harness Radiator Fan Relay A/Con Relay Rad Fan Relay Here is a diagram of the relays location in the under the hood fuse box
To test your relays, you should have continuity between terminal 1 and 2 when powered on and ground connected to terminal 3 and 4 You can check the fans by simply disconnecting the harness and applying 12V to the connector end to the fan. If the fans turn you know they work the check the engine temperature sensor like shown on here as well as on here The fan is controlled by the PCM, via a signal from the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) sensor
