I installed the laptop dual drive kit into my 2010 Mac book Pro and everything works fine except auto run disc will not play. I get a error message" There was a initialization error. A valid DVD drive could not be found – 70012". Also, if I try to open the DVD player app from the dock I get the same message. The disc show up in the Finder but I just can’t play them!
Ahh if you’ve removed your optical drive and put in a HDD or SSD that’s why you can’t autoplay a DVD - there’s no place to put it (Valid DVD drive could not be found). If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
Yes, thanks. What I don’t get is that new Macs are coming without a DVD drive now, so you need to buy a external superdrive to play CD/DVD’s. So they can not play auto play disk either? If I had understood the problem I am not sure I would make the change.
