Chosen Solution
I replaced my brothers screen and maybe a month later he said he turned it on and used it and turned it off. Five minutes later he grabbed the phone and the screen wouldn’t light up. We purchased a new screen and put it in but the backlight still doesn’t work. If I put it in a dark room I can faintly see it and use the phone normally. If anyone knows what is wrong I would greatly appreciate it.
The backlight is gone on the phone. The backlight circuit will need to be diagnosed and repaired by someone that does micro-soldering. You may be able to find someone locally in your area that does board-level repairs for iPhones.
