I believe this counts as repair, if only virtually. I have a semitethered jailbroken iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1. Just recently, I tried to delete one of my appstore apps; I held on one of them until they all started shaking, then pressed the “X” over the app I wanted to delete. But to my horror, the thing then proceded to do a respring without deleting anything! Any help would be appreciated…

I have the same problem. A work around is to delete the app from the Settings>General>Usage.

I had the same problem. Yet could not delete from the “usage” section. So this is how I finally was able to delete apps Settings General Restrictions Allow…delete apps

If your Apps don’t includ iOS, you are surely able to delete Apps from iPhone, do all of your 3rd party apps no longer show the delete “x” when wiggling? If so, try the following steps as needed with iPhone Data Eraser:

  1. Restart phone
  2. Reset phone (no data loss): press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears
  3. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
  4. Restore iOS using iTunes, also restoring a backup
  5. Restore iOS as new, without using a backup

To uninstall apps on iPhone, you can simply do the following:

  1. hold your finger on either the icon for the application you wish to uninstall or any other icon until the icons on your home screen begin to shake or wiggle (the same action you take to move or re-arrange home screen icons)
  2. click the “x” in the upper left hand corner of the icon for the application you wish to remove
  3. delete the application from your iTunes applications tab If you want to delete apps on iPhone permanently, you can click iOS data eraser tool to know more.
