I am unable to delete some of my emails. There are about 14 that keep re-appearing. I put them in trash, but they return to inbox a few minutes later.
Are you using the stock email? If so, don’t use it. If you use GMail, use the app, and use Yahoo if you have a Yahoo account, etc…
