My laptop was working smoothly but suddenly one day after switching on my pc the Wi-Fi option in my toolbar vanished. I tried going to the control panel and connection settings but every time it shows Ethernet and vpn. There is no Wi-Fi Option. What should I do?
Things to try: Open device manager and check if your WiFi adapter shows up, if it does show up but you don’t have an option to connect try doing a system restore to a date you know it was working. Sometimes the driver can malfunction and cause the adapter to stop working if this happens the device will have a yellow triangle next to it in device manager or it will be under unknown devices, in this case just download the driver and reinstall. If it doesn’t show up at all in device manager, then you will need to open the laptop and check the connectors for the WiFi card, if you’re not familiar opening a computer you should take it to a repair shop. Worst case scenario you will have to replace the WiFi card or you can buy a USB WiFi dongle.
