When I go to open any of my apps on my iPhone they will act like they r going to open then close out. I can only open the apps that came with the iPhone. And I have tried all the things the apple company (read on the internet) suggested to try
This often happens if the apps were downloaded on an Apple ID with which you are no longer logged in, for example if you synced your phone with a friend’s computer. Try downloading a few new apps on your account to see if you are able to open those, or try an alternative Apple ID to which the apps might belong.
Do you have a jailbroken iphone? If do so you have have a tethered jailbreak and might need to use redsn0w to boot tethered now option. Theres a new tool to untethered jailbreak the iOS 5.1.1 its very easy and works on the 3gs whit no problems, and eliminate the need to connect tue iphone to the computer on every reboot.

I have this same problem too , I go into any app and even the apps that came with the iphone act like there opening the app then it just goes out the only app that doesnt do that is The Settings…..I have the IPhone 4 , IOS 7.1.2
Just soak it in vinegar dash some salt on that ##&&% and let it sit for a few hours than your good to get on battlefield and team kill or text that girl you wanna eat out

Apple sucks! Im having the same problem in openning apps, I also have a 3Gs…. I can not even get more apps because I got a message saying: “This app requires iOS 4.3.” So apple launches new versions that make older ones obsolete, now my iphone is not smart anymore, just a regular phone that recieves and makes calls /sms…
iOS 4.2.1 is the maximum for iphone 3gs.
