I have tried numerous times to reset my laptop to factory settings, & it will never complete. Always get the message that it can’t complete & stops
Because the restore image is probably corrupted.. If it’s windows 10, download the iso direct from Microsoft, create a bootable usb drive and reload from scratch.. most times that’s a better install that a factory restore..
