If you’ve checked all obvious stuff like you’re not in airplane mode, sending to valid recipient, etc, I would check the APN codes for your carrier and make sure your device is set to correct codes. I have had this issue many times before with MetroPCS. You can find the correct APN for your carrier by searching Google or calling your carrier. HOPE that helps.
