brand new tablet will not search for available wi fi connections.
Check the WiFi router that you are trying to connect to. It could be that the router is set to 5.4ghz, while the tablet can only use 2.4ghz. If you do have 2.4ghz signals in the area, then you have a defective tablet. I would suggest you take the tablet back to wherever it was purchased from if that is the case.
