Hi @shefarr , It appears as though the battery in the tablet has swollen and has forced the cover from its’ retaining latches. Here’s a link to the ifixit Hisense Sero 8 Battery Replacement guide, which shows how to open the tablet so that you can check if this is correct. Replacement batteries are available online. Just search for Hisense Sero 8 battery to get results for suppliers of the part.
