Ever since I replaced the charging port and flex ribbon, the home button stopped working. Did I lose or damage a piece? If so, what is/are the piece(s) called to that I can order and replace?

Had the same problem after a battery change Found that gold ribbon on left and black main ribbions white line where not aligning with gold line on board Going straight in was not working Going in at a slight angle with a push and a wiggle Got all lines aligning Hope this helps

Okay, so I had the same problem. Only the back and open apps buttons worked. Went back in and realigned lines on the ribbon cables with the lines on the circuit board and BAMM, the home button works..

Hard for me to recall. I think that the home button ribbon plugs into the charging port on that one. So you may just need to make sure they are plugged in all the way.

No usefulness to this if you have to build a reputation to vote down unhelpful advice

This one was an easy fix for me. The connection to the mainboard is where the problem is. There is a line eitherside of the ribbon cable, make sure the mark on the ribbon cable lines up with the ones either side.

I noticed the same thing. I found the fix if interested still. There is a little piece that you have to put back under the plastic tab connected to the USB part. It must get connected back to the other connector part hidden under the plastic casing (tab).

I replaced the same part a d now have the same issue. Did you find a fix

Home button back, search all button not to work can u give me a solution of this problem?what can i do?tell me answer

Do not push the ribbon all the way in, stop a little before the white line. If you push it too far it will not make proper contact with the connector. ;)

My problem is that after time out of the screen, pressing the home button does not bring bacķ the dispĺay.The screen remains ďark no matter how many tìmes i press the home button. The only waý tò access the data again is to restart the computer again

I have the same poblem. When l put back the old charge cabel the home button works fine. The old cabel has 1.1 vesion and the new one has 1.0 on it. l think thats the poblem…

Under the plastic framework at the bottom, where the micrphone ribbon goes, there is a tiny rectangular connector from the home button, another ribbon. This connector plugs into the end of the ribbon that has the microphone from your new charging port.

My tab home key stop working

Does anyone have a picture of the connector? On mine the leftmost pins seem to be missing after sending it in for a battery replacement (Note Pro), and now the home button doesn’t work anymore . Charging is intermittent.

  1. How to settle home button galaxy tab4, the button inside, stuck, cannot push. The charger still good condition?
  2. How to reset for password forgotton without use home button?

indeed easy fixed by reattaching the cable while wiggling it a bit.
