Printer recently started giving “out of paper” error whenever we tried to print to it using Google Cloud Print. It turns out that it will print if there is paper in the rear tray, and only from the rear tray. The front (bottom) paper cassette has lots of paper and there is no paper jam.
Hi Michael, it sound like either the wrong size paper is being used or the system preferences are off. I would go into your system settings and select the tray you would like to have print.
I have the same issue. I’m on a Mac and for some reason the printer is trying to get paper from the rear feed instead of taking it from the front paper tray. I’m just using letter size paper. Nothing difficult here. Why is it trying to use the rear feed and how can I correct this? Thanks!
If you don’t have the Epson iPrint app downloaded, your iPhone will choose a photo paper and different size paper (4x6) than what is or isn’t available in the read tray. Epson iPrint app gives options to select paper and paper tray locations.
I have an answer that may help you.. I figured out why my printer kept going to the rear tray as it thought the paper was the wrong size in the cassettes.. Make sure your paper is against the back blue size stop.. and make sure the blue stopper is on LETTER!!!… I had my paper pushed too far in and the stopper was not on Letter 8.5x11” This should clear up rear tray problems… Also in Maintenance make sure your rear tray is set to 11x17” this way the printer won’t use the back feeder as it’s not letter sized.
