Why Does It State Busy When Trying To Take Picture Canon Eos Rebel Xsi

Camera takes quite a while to focus then flashes “busy” across screen when trying to take a picture. I have cleaned it and replaced memory card but is still doing it.It is on AF and it does focus on subject but then flashes BUSY and wont take picture

The flash is charging, or the settings are not correct (shutter speed/ f-stop etc).Try setting on auto and going outside to avoid needing flash to check this possibility.
