Chosen Solution
It’s actually a Garmin nuvi 2995 but that isn’t listed. It will only turn on when plugged into the car, my PC or a USB charger, then it works OK. I’ve left it plugged into a USB charger for over an hour, but it still won’t turn on unless it’s plugged in. Can anyone suggest a fix ?
Your battery unfortunately has probably gone bad google the model number and see if its repairable lucky in 2018 theres a video for everything. I don’t know if Ifixit will have parts for it try ebay if not look for good vendor.
My mistake, I thought charging it for an hour would be enough, it wasn’t. Charged it overnight, all ok now. Found out where to buy replacement batteries though. Thanks for the help.
