My fan is a holmes 18" standing fan. Not one of those tower fans. When we turn it on, we hear nothing. No humming, buzzing, nothing. However, when we set it to oscillate, it does oscillate, but the blades still won’t spin. However, at the end of each oscillating turn, it makes a strange noise, almost humming in a way, before it goes silent again (except for the oscillating motor, of course).
It had 2 different motors and it sounds like the motor for the blades either doesn’t have power or is burnt out.
