Microwave was used for 12 minutes to bake a cake. When I took the cake out after the timer went off, the microwave fan kept running with the door open. The turntable didn’t continue to turn. All buttons on the panel still work. The unit heats and the turntable turns when I use it. It stops if I interrupt a timed cycle, and works when cycle is resumed. After cycle finishes and the unit turns itself off, the fan comes back on when I open the door. Now the fan turns on every time I open the microwave door.
First, make sure that the touchpad is working properly. If the touchpad is working properly, the main control board is likely at fault. If the control board is defective, replace it. UPDATE 12/20 If your microwave continues running when you open the door, it may be a problem with the door interlock switch. … The components that could stay on when the door is open, but the door switch isn’t working are the fan motor, stirrer motor, and interior light.
