Hi there, I had noticed that my front-facing camera looked to be misaligned, and my phone screen was badly cracked so I had replaced it in hopes of selling my old iPhone XR. However, the only issue is that after replacing the screen, it still looks misaligned. The screen is from etechparts.com and it shouldn’t have any issues with alignment as I’ve used them before even for other customers. However, on my phone and thankfully not a customer, the front-facing camera appears to be misaligned? I’m not quite sure, you can see that it doesn’t look centered and that it looks slightly down from where it should be given the slight “white” line showing. Additionally, the pictures, before and after screen replacement were blurry. Do I need a new front-facing camera module? Do I need a new front-facing camera bracket? And before I replaced the screen, I noticed Face ID stopped working and that little white rectangular piece was cracked for some reason upon opening it up. I actually don’t know at all what this piece is called, but it appeared to be broken before even opening up the phone since Face ID suddenly stopped working. There wasn’t any water damage to the phone and it’s been in an expensive metal phone case all of its life and has only been dropped a few times.Below are some pictures I have provided, of the visually out-of-place front-facing camera, then two similar pictures were taken with the iPhone XR and my current iPhone 12. The iPhone XR pictures seem blurry and I understand that the XR tends to ‘smooth’ out the image and make it somewhat blurry but it appears more blurry than usual. Portrait mode also doesn’t work, it keeps saying to move farther back. And Face ID, as mentioned above, doesn’t work either. This occurred before the screen replacement as well. Are you getting any sort of “Unable to activate FaceID” messages? If so something may not be aligned properly which can cause FaceID to malfunction. The FaceID sensors are also sensitive to dust so if your screen was broken to a point where dirt and debris could get in it can smudge up the sensors. I know you mentioned a rectangular piece was cracked would you mind sharing a picture of said piece? That could also explain why FaceID doesn’t work.
