Hi there, I have a MacBook Air which is not willing to charge. The MagSafe 2 charger does not light up - it stays off no matter what. I have tried with multiple different chargers which all yield the same result. The MacBook Air does not charge, however I can use it as long as I keep the power adapter connected to it. I tried doing a SMC-reset. Any suggestions as what to look into? EDIT - added Coconut Battery screenshot
Ouch! Not good ;-{ Clearly we can see the charging logic on your logic board has failed. A common cause is using knockoff chargers ● Don’t Replace Your MacBook Charger With a Cheap Knockoff ● OEM MagSafe Chargers vs Cheap Imposters: Teardown for Truth ● Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks ● FAKE Magsafe MacBook Chargers on eBay - Watch before buying a Mac Charger But at this point you will also need to get the logic board fixed or replace it as well. Where do you live? Country and nearest city?
I have a very similar problem, just since my battery is completely depleted I cannot do any sysyem or hardware checks. My first thought is to test the charger with a voltmeter but I am unsure how to do…what pins to test and what I readings I need to see. Any input would be great! Review these images:
