This strip of static keeps popping up at the bottom of the screen. It has been happening more and more frequently. It happens on the desktop and when I have windows open but never while in full screen. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Sorry, that doesn’t help you in this case. Using screen sharing completely bypasses the internal display as well as the GPU logic of your system which is what we want to check. To prove that do the reverse you’ll see your friends systems image will flicker as your systems display and GPU logic is now being used. The reason to check your system with an external display is to isolate which part has failed is it the display (most likely) or is it the GPU on the logic board (also possible). Lets get a Thunderbolt3 (USB-C) to HDMA dongle or look at getting a Thunderbolt3 (USB-C) multi-port dock/hub which offers a HDMI port, then you can use a standard HDMI cable to your TV or Monitor. ● Belkin USB-C to HDMI Adapter ● CalDigit Thunderbolt3 Mini Dock - Portable, Bus Powered, Non Charging
