why does my phone go directly to voicemail instead of ringing?
The only thing I can tell you is to check call forwarding. One would expect a call would only go to voice mail when you are either on the phone, not answering or you’ve enable call forwarding for a specific number or all numbers. My Alcatel Flip Phone went to voice mail WITHOUT ringing mysteriously until I disabled all call forwarding. Now it behaves: it goes to voice mail on no answer or when line is busy. Sales people are surprisingly unaware , not much help (T-Mobile) especially if you’re a prepaid customer or a senior.
