So I was just playing Horizon and suddenly the PS4 turns off, no warnings, no sounds, it just turns off. I thought it was overheating, but I didn’t hear the fan kick into high gear or anything. and it wasn’t that hot to the touch either but never the less I left it for 2 hours to cool off. it booted alright. the game loaded but 3 minutes in the ps4 shuts off again. tried other games and still the same.
Here is what can cause a Sony PlayStation 4 to turn OFF randomly… TRY THIS FIRST AS THIS CAN BE A COMMON ISSUE: -Go to SETTINGS then INITIALIZATION then INITIALIZE SYSTEM and click FULL INITIALIZATION. -If that does not fix the problem: -Go into SAFE MODE and click REBUILD DATABASE. -Be sure your PS4 system is up to date. -Go into SYSTEM and be sure you have the latest system firmware.
@atticus_via If @godxly suggestion has failed, here are 2 others. a) try these instructions on fresh install of System 5.x https://www.playstation.com/en-us/suppor… b) I suspect your hard drive may have failed or is failing. Follow iFixit teardown steps 1-8 on changing the hard drive. out and go back to my step a) to reinstall the software on the new hard drive. PlayStation 4 Teardown
So the problem was with the actual hard drive. Had to have it replaced and then it fixed itself.
Look everybody my PS4 is freezing and shutting off and I know your PS4 is doing the same thing no it’s not the fan or the system it’s your internal hard drive failing from being to old, if your PS4 is acting slow like it’s sum old Windows PC and freezing and cutting off just replace the the hard drive shouldn’t be that much money to do it yourself other places will charge you over 150$ just for stuff like a 1-2 Tb hard drive you can get from bestbuy for 80$ and a USB flash drive for like 5$ and go on YouTube and look up how to install hard drive to PS4 that simple thank me later
When I’m turning on my ps4 the ps4 logo comes up then it goes to a dark blue screen then nothing more comes up can I fix
My PS4 has done this since I purchased it new almost 3 years ago. I figured out by accident that it wouldn’t crash if I sat it on it’s right side. I had it this way for over a year with no crashes. Out of curiosity, I laid it back flat to see if it would still happen, and sure enough, it did. I have no insight into the actual problem or a real fix, but if you’re experiencing random crashes with no answers, give this a try.
Whenever I start up my main account it crashes but when I open another account nothing happens it’s only crashes on the main account
This article on PS4 Storage Expert suggests many solutions for this issue. I strongly advise to read it.
I have this same exact problem. I have this problem with the ps4 pro. I just got the console and I’m using my “regular” PS4 power cord. I think that’s the problem. I’m going to get a PS4 pro powers cord to see if I’m right.
PS4 freezes frequently

When ever I try to play any sort of game on my PS4 PRO, When the game is launching the game starts to glitch then 10 seconds later freezes and closes with an error (CE-34878-0). I’m not yet sure if this because the Hard Drive is Faulty. Any ideas???
