So me and my boyfriend both have a ps4 and a tv each in our gaming room, his ps4 started turning itself off randomly so we had to watch Netflix on my ps4, but then mine did the exact same thing. We’ve tried using new power cables and HDMI cables as well as swapping to a different plug socket. We have tried googling answers but had no luck. We’re not using an extension lead either… just seems weird that both of our PS4’s would do the same thing at the same time so reluctant to believe it’s an issue with the console itself?
Most of the time the console needs dust cleaning and thermal paste replacement. We usually get these done by removing the bottom cover (Thermal paste rarely ever needs to be replaced) and blowing the dust out with a air compressor. When blowing it out make sure you hold the fan in place and not let it spin when blowing it out with air compressor. A local reputable game console repair shop can do this for you. For bottom cover it’s one screw at the back and pull the cover off starting from the back.
