I recently replaced the battery of my iPhone 5S but managed to damage the phone’s screen while removing it. The screen was already cracked but completely shattered after reassembly and when trying to unlock using my passcode I found I could not press certain numbers whereas others worked after a few attempts. Assuming it was just the screen that was the problem I bought a replacement and fitted it only to find that the phone still behaved exactly the same way as the previous screen with the same numbers still not working. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting all ribbon cables, including the battery, but the problem remains. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with the phone and how it might be fixed? Thanks

I would purchase a screen from iFixit or a reputable dealer, try a new screen before giving up- it is possible to receive bad screens from ebay. ensure your connections on the board are cleaned out-always disconnect the battery when working on the cables in order to not cause a backlight issue.
