My iPhone SE’s touchscreen is often unresponsive. Locking and re-waking usually temporarily fixes the issue, but this is required nearly every time I wake the phone. Additionally, there are sometimes ghost taps/scrolls, where input is being interpreted even when nothing is physically touching the screen. I have tried replacing the entire screen and digitizer assembly, as well as various restores of the software to no avail. After replacing the screen, auto-brightness no longer works (and the software slider to enable/disable this feature is not visible in the accessibility menus anymore). Any tips?
Either the screen is bad quality or the screen is installed in a frame that is bent / dented around the corners or just the whole frame in general resulting in the screen not sitting flat and being flexed. Try pushing each corner of the screen, if you feel that there is a huge noticeable gap on any corner, that’s what’s causing the ghost touch as the glass is on an uneven surface causing the touch screen layer to bend which this issue occurs. Unfortunately in most cases even if you correct the frame issue you probably would need to replace the screen again as it might still persist.
It sounds like quality of screen is the issue, some people get hold of replacement screens that are iPhone 5s and use or sell them for iPhone SE, they will work but some poor quality ones cause issues. I would suggest purchasing from a different supplier and Iphone SE screen try fitting it to see if the problem is resolved.
Just want to share: I did every options but they didn’t work for my case except for the complete reset i.e. erase and rest (just make sure u backed up your important files). And it (the one I am using here SE 1st gen) is now working perfectly.
