When I turn on my Dell Inspiron 15-7537 the power light comes on, but the screen stays black.
You need to connect an external monitor on your computer and then check are you still getting the same problem . if you are getting the same problem then you need to open your laptop and clean ram and processor fan. Now install the fan and ram back in and then power on your laptop it should work fine now.

Have same issue works on external but black screen on lcd ,try diagnostic pressing power button and D show all colour clear and stay black ,replace different cable and lcd still same
I am facing the same issue, when i am connecting an external monitor not sure how to swtich the display. As i am not able to get any option on the screen.
