Hello a night ago i heard a light pop while i was using my laptop today i took a closer look and I’ve realized the left bottom side of the screen has popped open, my question is can it be fixed, and do i have to replace the entire screen or can it be easily fixed. This is what it looks like currently
Hi, It will be a bit involved as you will have to remove the LCD module from the laptop and then disassemble the module to find out what has happened. It could be a problem with the screen bezel coming adrift (broken clip) or a loose screw holding the LCD unit in place etc. Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.39 to view the procedure to remove the LCD module. On p.42 on, it shows how to disassemble it so that you can check what has occurred. If a part has broken, here’s the parts list for the laptop. Click on Select Commodity > LCD parts (21) to see all the parts in the module (except the LCD panel - that’s under LCD panels (11) Search online using the part number only to find suppliers of the part that suits you best.
