Why Has My Screen Suddenly Got To Bright Like Over Exposed Nikon Coolpix L26 Camera

When the camera is turned on it goes to a bright white screen which looks similar to an over exposed view,cannot seem to adjust it at all,tried menus,but no luck,any ideas ? Many thanks, Dave
