I have a Vizio 550I-B2 LWJ2PPAQ Tv. One day screen went black but had sound. I never could see any semblance of pic with flashlight check. I replaced power supply board - tv booted up and picture went black with sound in 5 minutes. I will attach images of original and new power supply as well as LED driver. One capacitor looks crooked but unsure if that means anything. 16 pin connection looks fine.

@jlove Check CN101, CN201 and CN202 with a multimeter. See if you get the voltages that are needed from your board. This “tv booted up and picture went black with sound in 5 minutes.” is usually an LED issue, so check/replace your LED driver board (if your power board supplies the right voltageto it (CN201/CN202)). The only thing after that is your main board.

There can be a number of reasons for a black screen, but the most common is a failure of the back light. This can be a power problem where the LEDs don’t get power or even an LED or two being open and thus not lighting. The fact that no picture was seen with a flashlight concerns me a bit. This may indicate that the TV is being told to produce a black screen. If so, than this may be a problem with the logic board (the one under the shield in the pictures.) Some poking around with a meter is called for here. If you feel comfortable doing this, update this posting and we’ll provide more instructions on what to check. Dan

Jolee, did you get this fixed? I replaced the power board but still nothing. I can see with a flashlight that the tv is on though?
