Chosen Solution
- Before powering off the keyboard/trackpad was malfunctioning or unresponsive
- Green light from power adapter and on the macbook itself but no response
- Reset SMC Attempt Failed (w/ battery w/o battery)
- Currently leaving the battery out over night Description (optional):
- Macbook indicted to service battery, the magsafe would consistently remain green but charging until I wiggle the cable magnet end
- The back of the screen is stripping away slightly from the cover
- Using offbrand Anker battery, EXO 850 SATA 3 SSD, upgraded to 8 ram, using prey much every port Does this sound like a battery issue because it doesn’t even turn on when the battery is unplugged. Possibly the SSD? I also read that someone switched their MacBook MagSafe DC-In Board with success.
faulty logic board. give up. sorry.
Hello. I think the fault is most probably in the DC board, or somewhere in the SMC circle. If the battery is causing open/short circuit, if you disconnect it, the mac should turn on. Sticky/malfunctioning trackpad can be caused by faulty battery. If some of the keys were working, remove everything to see the bottom of the keyboard and backlight, because likely liquid damaged. Also try to disconnect everything from the logic board, except the fan and the DC board and see if it starts automatically or not. If not, definitely logic board issue (and most likely liquid damage, if the keyboard and trackpad has the signs on them.)
